"In May of 2006, I spent six weeks in Ballycastle, county Mayo,
Ireland at the Ballinglen Artist’s Residency. All of the work
done here was with various water media, water-soluble graphite
and sand, which I gathered from a nearby beach. I was inspired
by the colors of land and sea, and the ever-changing drama of
the skies and weather. Some of my very recent oil paintings
show the influence of the Ireland experience." -Maggi Brown
